Ida Maria - I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked

Norwegian Ida Maria is, at first glance, a delight. There’s something about the Scandinavian singers and artists that are currently getting airtime - quite how do such small nations manage to produce such a quantity of great music?

On to the track itself. Opening with drums and guitar, Ida introduces us to the agonised hell that is having nothing in common with a person except when in bed. “Ok you’re kinda sexy / but you’re not really special” she tells us. “What the hell do I do this for? You’re just another guy.”

Once again I’m reminded of being a teenager, although thankfully not with a man, and attempting to make small talk. “Yup, brought some beers. Cigarette? *snog and hope we can stop talking*.”

I’ll leave you with Ida’s irritatingly true refrain: “I like you so much better when you’re naked / I like *me* so much better when you’re naked.”
