Born Ruffians - Hummingbird

The nineties were an exciting time to be in the UK: not only had the corrupt, untrusted right-wing government of the time fallen, but it was cool to be British! More than that, it felt cool to be part of cool Britannia!

We had pretentious television shows that not only showed drug taking and casual sex, but drugs and bumsex between fellas! This was how far into being cool we were.

The only reason I mention this is that I’m ashamed. Ten years on, millions of dollars and pounds lost in the dot com bubble, and for what? I’ll tell you for what - a perfectly decent song such as Born Ruffian’s Hummingbird to remind myself and several others of those happy nineties. And the theme tune to This Life. And then pretend it didn’t happen.
